Return to the Fox Pub

Back in February, Teena and I stopped into The Fox pub for a drink. It was nice and cozy and we thought it would be a great place to eat. As we were going to see the Toronto Rock play at the ACC tonight, we thought it would be a good time to give it a try.

Last time we sat in the bar area but there is also a room off to the side and that's where we sat this time. It was nice and cozy, complete with 3 TVs and a fake fireplace.

The service was excellent. Teena ordered medium wings and I waffled between the Four Cheese “Mac & Cheese” or the Fish and Chips. The waiter said the Mac and Cheese was his favorite so I went with that.

Teena, who enjoys hot wings, thought the medium was hot enough. She found the wings a little overcooked and dry. She enjoyed the large cut fries and gravy.

My Mac and Cheese was very good. It was made with Cheddar, Gruyére, mozzarella and Parmesan, roasted black garlic, double smoked bacon, shallots and fresh herbs. It was very cheesy and I liked the baked bread crumbs on top. My one complaint was there was very little bacon in it. We saw lots of fish and chips coming into the room and they looked great! That's what I'll get next time.

It's a place I definitely would recommend.

My Mac and Cheese. It was a good size potion.
