Dinner at the Miller Tavern

After the Raptors game, Teena and I decided to hit a couple of spots. First we hit the Fox, for a drink. It was a comfortable place to have a pint. Teena's review of it is here.

Next door is the Miller Tavern, which is has the same owner as the Fox. He also owns the Miller Tavern on Yonge Street in Hogs Hollow which used to be the Jolly Miller.

The Miller is a little more upscale than the Fox but very comfortable and the staff were great. This is a place for cocktails, not pints and I sampled three of them. The first one was a Tavern Shandy made with Steam Whistle Pilsner, lemon and St Germaine which is a very lemony liqueur.

Next was the Pretty Ricky, Tromba Tequila Blanco, lime, St Germaine sour cherries and seltzer.

The last one was my favorite of the night, the Pear Tree Martini, Grey Goose La Poire, St Germaine, Peychauds Bitters and a lime ... not just a lime, a lime that is lit on fire first!

Teena has a St Germaine Cocktail, Veuve Clicquot, St Germaine (of course!) and seltzer. She found it quite good, then had a wine with supper.

Speaking of supper, it was delicious. Teena has Sri Lankan Curry which she thought was very good and quite spicy.

I was adventurous and had a seafood platter, quite reasonably priced at $21 for what I got. It had a big Blue crab and shrimp cake, smoked salmon, shrimp, ahi tuna, and Cookstown greens with an orange vinaigrette. I had never had ahi tuna before. I didn't really like it. The rest was excellent!

Teena and I both would both go back to both The Fox and The Miller Tavern. It's definitely worth a visit.
