A Gord's Eye View of Toronto - Bercy Park

Yesterday I went for a walk to take a picture of something that I had planned for this week. As I was on Yonge and crossing Wellington, I looked to the east, saw this and once again braving traffic, took this shot instead.

This view is looking across Bercy Park to the back of the Gooderham and Worts Flat Iron building.

In 1980, City of Toronto Public Art with partners Lavalin Inc. and Ontario Lottery Fund commissioned Canadian artist Derek Michael Besant to do a mural at the rear of the building, which he calls Trompe.d'oille.

With some fall colours and a bright sunny day, I felt it made standing in traffic at lunch hour a worthwhile picture.

I hope you do too.
