Lunch at A&K Lick-a-Chick

On the way to Sydney, Teena and I stopped at a place I had hoped to visit for a couple of years ... A&K Lick-a-Chick in Cape Breton.

Why?

Admittedly, a huge reason is the name. The first time I heard it, I did giggle. Then Teena's sister, Sarah, bought me a tee-shirt from there. People who saw me in it loved it. So when we planned this trip, hitting A&K Lick-a-Chick was on the list of things to do.

And finally I was there and, yes, the chicken was great! Teena had not been here in more than 20 years and she too enjoyed it. Just like she remembered it! It is a small place but as we sat there and enjoyed our meal, it was amazing to see the people who came, ordered and went.

Huge turnover . There is a Tim Horton's across the street and I am sure this place did a better business.

I felt it is a shame that on this trip we will not have an opportunity to hit this place again.

I had a great meal in a nice place quaint place.

I also came away with a hat!

I am a stock car fan and love how they sponsor a local car.

One final note, Teena pointed this out. If your theme is chicken, why does your sign state that you have the Best Hamburgers in the World but only the Best Chicken on the Island? I would think it would be the other way around.
