Book Review, Blogging Just for Writers by Frances Caballo

Lately I have become more involved in social media. A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to listen to a webinar put on by Frances Caballo and hosted by the Canadian Authors Association on Social Media for Writers.

So who is Frances Caballo?

Frances Caballo is an author and social media strategist and manager for writers. She’s a regular speaker at the San Francisco Writers Conference and a contributing writer at TheBookDesigner.com. She’s written several books including The Author’s Guide to Goodreads, Avoid Social Media Time Suck, and Twitter Just for Writers. Her focus is on helping authors surmount the barriers that keep them from flourishing online, building their platform, finding new readers, and selling more books. Her clients include authors of every genre and writer conferences.

I was impressed by her knowledge and purchased her ebook, Blogging Just for Writers.

Whether you're new to blogging or you've been blogging for a while, this book will help you find free photographs, provide blogging topics, offer great tips, show you how to create the best titles, and suggest applications you can start enjoying today.

Although it is a very thin book, it is thick in knowledge and content. I have been blogging for years at The World of Gord and still learned quite a bit from this book. It is full of examples, helpful websites and strategies for spreading the word on social media about your blog.

One small criticism. The last chapter has a glaring error that should have been picked up by the editor. It is titled Finals Tips for Success, instead of Final Tips. The ten tips in this chapter though are worth reading and re-reading.

If you currently are a blogger or just starting to blog, this book is a worthwhile read.
