Rock Roughed Up by Roughnecks

Teena and I went to the ACC tonight confident that the Toronto Rock could and would extend their two game winning streak. The Rock came into the game with a 2-6 record, against the 3-7 Calgary Roughnecks.

It was Country Night at the ACC and, as usual, Scotty Newlands gave a great performance sing O'Canada.

I made some new friends on my way into the arena.

Game time.

The Rock were down quickly 2-0 by the time they scored their first goal.

Tim and Gillian are season ticket holders in our section and loud supporters, raising the Rock flag after every goal.

Some first half action.

The Toronto Rock Cheerleaders came out to perform.

Despite tying the game two all early, the Rock found themselves down 7-4 at the half when country music artist, Tebey, came out to perform.

Second half action.

Despite the Rock never really being in contention since the opening few minutes, the cheerleaders never gave up.

In the end, the Rock lost 15-10 in front of 8,178 fans, many who had already left the arena before the end of the game. Even in losing, the Rock acknowledged the fans.

On Sunday they take on the 3-6 Vancouver Stealth at the ACC. Playoff hopes are slipping away but they still have a chance and Teena and I will be there to cheer them on.
