As usual, it was fabulous weather for Canada day so Teena and I decided to grab our cameras and head down to the lake for a walk.
We started off at Coronation Park down at the bottom of Strachan by the Prince's Gates. There is a huge Canadian flag (above) that flies there commemorating the 50th anniversary of the allied victory in World War II.
It's a nice park. We enjoy watching the birds swimming around the boats at the Royal Yacht Club. A couple were posing like bookends.
I was surprised that there were so many boats moored with this being such a great day, although some took advantage of the weather.
I don't understand cyclists. They demand bike lanes, which I think is a great idea, but when they get them don't use them. This cranky rider expected everyone to get out of his way even though he is riding the wrong way and not using the bike lane. The jogger had to break his rhythm and move out of the way of the two riders. The bike lane is clearly marked. Use it!
There was a restored 1951 TTC streetcar working the Queens Quay tracks. It was a great day for a walk. We ended up on the patio of the Pier 4 Storehouse at Harbourfront for a couple of well needed drinks. It was a fabulous Canada Day walkabout.
