Movie Review - Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol

As is tradition in our household, Teena and I love spending Christmas going to an afternoon movie. This year it was Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.

After being disavowed and framed for a terrorist bombing on the Kremlin, Impossible Mission Force (IMF) agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) has to assemble a crew of fellow disavowed agents (the returning Simon Pegg (Mission: Impossible III) along with newcomers Paula Patton (Precious), and Jeremy Renner (Hurt Locker, the upcoming The Avengers) to clear the agency's name as well as their own.

I hated the first movie and because of that never saw the second. I loved Jay Leno's line about MI2: "Maybe Mission Impossible 2 will explain what the hell Mission Impossible 1 was all about."

I heard really good things about this one, though, and my son Ken, really recommended it.

This was an excellent movie, full of action and thrills. I love how in this one they keep to the idea of the original series with intricate schemes to get just one part of the job done.

As with most action movies now, some sense of reality should be checked at the door. If you do, that you'll love it. The special effects are awesome and the scene with Tom Cruise on the Tower in Dubai is breathtaking.

You cannot wait to see this on TV and would be ridiculous to see it on a tablet or iPhone. We saw it in IMAX. That is the way to go.

An 8.5/10 for me. One I would even go to see in the theater again!
