Quick Chilling Wine

There has been times that I have stopped into the Wine Rack on King to buy a bottle of wine. They do have a wine fridge but often there is a Gewurztraminer (Gertz) or a Reisling that catches my eye but is unchilled.

Thanks to an old rerun of Queer Eye I now know how. (Note: Queer Eye for the Straight Guy changed it's name to just Queer Eye after the third season to allow a wider choice in whose life they could re-style).

It is very simple really. Break out the old ice bucket and fill it with ice cubes and water. The trick then is to add a handful of salt. The salt will melt the ice quicker but also allows the water to cool down to a temperature below freezing which in turn chills you wine in around ten minutes.

Next time you pick up a bottle of bubbly to celebrate, or decide a nice cool white wine would go down good, this little trick will help.
