A Sunday Afternoon at the 2016 Toronto Festival of Beer

Today Teena and I had media passes for this year's Toronto Festival of Beer. For the past five years, we have been on a Thursday night, Friday night, three Saturdays and this year, a Sunday. I like doing this on a Sunday. It seemed far more laid back and the people more chatty.

I love this fountain!

In the media tent, we were served these great sausage rolls from the Pie Commission. We have to go and pay them a visit sometime.

Some views of the festival.

For some reason, my Faxe Beer post has been a favorite lately.

Sweden was the feature country this year. There were 28 beers available and most were IPAs and sour beers. I spoke to a brewer from Sweden who told me sours are very popular in Sweden right now. I am doing a Beer of the Week on them later this week but will say they do them so very well!

I loved this band flown in from Sweden. So much energy and the music was great!

Afterwards they came back to watch the next band with trays of oysters. Not sure if they have oysters over there but they were huge fans of them.

The Swedish tent was always full.

I got a tattoo!

This band was great. They spoke English but sung in Swedish. I loved it. Sitting drinking wonderful Swedish sours and listening to a true Swedish band on the shores of Lake Ontario. Only in Canada!

Here we are!

Steam Whistle Brewery from Toronto were making hats from beer beer cases.

An Abba tribute band played.

Teena really enjoyed the Rickards Radler.

Some ambiance.

I had a Charlie Wells IPA. She seemed quite excited about it!

The Brock Street Double Vision IIPA was one of my favorites and, yes, I had more than one.

This is a Perry Loved Dirty Mary from Old Flame Brewing Company in Port Perry. I really enjoyed it.

The Bud tent.

Henderson Brewing opened up this year not too far from where we live. I had my first taste today and it was great. Looking forward to paying them a visit.

I love the name of this brewery, Shawn and Ed. It was very good!

A beer from Bobcaygeon Brewing.

We met new friends!

It was another fun day at the Toronto Festival of Beer. I would not hesitate to go on a Sunday again. The music, people, atmosphere and most importantly, the beer, are all fabulous have always been fabulous. I am looking forward to the 2017 version.
