Friday Night Beer at Angelo's

Friday nights I like to stop for a couple of pints on the way home, unwind from my week and read.

Sounds like a boring way to celebrate the work week's end but I enjoy it. My walk to and from work is along King Street W and Teena pointed to me that a new place had opened along my way which had craft beers on tap ... Angelo's on King.

It is opens at 5PM daily, although the sign in front said "now open for lunch". I was there at 4:20 but the door was open, the sign was out so I went in. Angelo, the owner, was sitting at the bar and I took a seat. We chatted and I liked him. He's a nice guy and seems get along well, kibitzing with the staff.

I had a look at the menu which was simple and looked good. It was appetizers, salads, pastas, and sandwiches. I could see through through to the kitchen to the side of the bar and would have no problem with Teena and I enjoying a meal there.

On tap, which is why I was there, were four beers, all Ontario craft beer. I had a Mill Street Tankhouse Ale and a Spearhead Hawaiian Pale Ale plus they also had a Mill Street Organic and a Flying Monkeys Amber Ale.

It is a nice Italian restaurant, very clean and I was well-looked after.

I will be back for more Friday night "reading" and plan to go with Teena for a meal.

I think it is a place worth trying out.
