Movie - Apollo 18

When I first saw the trailer for Apollo 18, I knew I wanted to see it in a theater.

I had no idea how it would be, from the previews it could be really engrossing or really bad. Tonight Teena had a camera course to take after work so knowing she would not want to see this, I headed over to the theater after I was done for the day to see it for myself.

"Decades-old found footage from NASA's abandoned Apollo 18 mission, where two American astronauts were sent on a secret expedition, reveals the reason the U.S. has never returned to the moon."

I don't like to give away much when I review a book or movie. OK, we all know there is going to be moon critters in it and that it was shot in the same format as the Blair Witch Project or Cloverfield.

To a certain point, it worked for me.

Not knowing anything at all about the movie, there were some surprises for me and the movie did keep me interested. The footage is well shot, re-creating footage as it would have been back in the 70s. Yes, I remember seeing it live in those days. In the end, though, there were some extra camera angles that were not plausible but added to the tension.

Overall I enjoyed it but only give it a 6 out of 10. If you wish to see it, make sure it is without commercial interruption as it would ruin the movie.
