Gord's an ENFP!

A few weeks ago, the company Teena works for sent her to Montreal for meetings and workshops. One of the workshops she took was a Myers-Briggs seminar.

The purpose of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality inventory is to make the theory of psychological types described by C. G. Jung understandable and useful in people’s lives. The essence of the theory is that much seemingly random variation in the behavior is actually quite orderly and consistent, being due to basic differences in the ways individuals prefer to use their perception and judgment

She posted her results on her blog.

This evening she gave me the same test. As she had already answered all the questions on the sheet, I could not just sit down and write the test. Instead she read off all 93 questions for me to answer verbally. They are all multiple choice so was fairly easy. Just answer quickly and honestly.

There were 16 different personality types, and I ended up being an ENFP. The test results describe my personality type.

Warmly enthusiastic and imaginative. See life as full of possibilities. make connections between events and information very quickly and confidently proceed based on the patterns they see. Want a lot of affirmation from others and readily give appreciation and support. Spontaneous and flexible, often rely on their ability to improvise and their verbal fluency.

There is a longer version describing the strengths and pitfalls of being an ENFP. I felt it too was interesting and fairly accurate.

Teena is also an ENFP. Perhaps that's another reason why we get along so well.
