For Thanksgiving weekend I am doing three Beer of the Weeks, one each day. This is the second of three. I am enjoying this experiment.
Back at the end of August, I read an article in the Toronto Star which was a very favorable review of a new beer that became available in Ontario, Victory Prima Pils. I have been meaning to give it a try and finally got around to bringing home a six pack
Brewed by Victory Brewery, a 13 year old company located in Downington, PA, which is about 30 miles outside of Philadelphia, the brewers wanted to brew an authentic Pilsner style

And they have succeeded.
The beer poured a very light gold colour much lighter than I expected. My fear was this would be a weak tasting beer but fortunately I was wrong. The beer did pour with a nice head that lasted and lasted. The first sip offers a nice crispness and finishes with a pleasant hoppy bite that does not overpower the taste.
This is a Pilsner that I thoroughly enjoyed. It would be a great refreshing beer for a hot summer afternoon or while watching football on a Sunday afternoon. To ensure a complete review, I am currently testing the latter and can state that the Prima Pils and NFL Sunday do go together well.
