Yonge St Pub Crawl with Toronto Beer Lovers Meet-Up

Tonight Teena and I went on our second event with Toronto Beer Lovers MeetUp group. The first was a day trip out to tour three craft breweries.

The intention here was to visit The Monks Table, The Rebel House and Bar Volo. We didn't quite make it to all three. We started off at The Monks Table where we took over the second floor.

Adam, the manager, looked after us real well. He came out with free appetizers of oysters, shrimp, chicken wings, fries, bread and dip. It was all excellent. I even developed a fondness for oysters and, yes, they do match with beer well.

Adam then came out with something a beer lovers group would enjoy ... a couple of bottles of Gouden Carolus Cuvee Van De Keizer Rood/Red which is an absolutely fabulous Belgium beer. It was very much enjoyed and appreciated.

After a long stay, we finally headed on down to the Rebel House which was just a 5 minute walk away. We didn't get a lot of exercise last night.

We took over the back patio, which was quite nice. A great night to be outside!

Here are Ken and I. Ken is the President of Black Oak Brewing and led this event. Black Oak head brewer, Adrian, was there too and is in the Black Oak tee shirt in the picture above. I am a big fan of the brewery and currently have their Summer Saison and Pale Ale in my fridge. Hopefully they will be joined by Ten Bitter Years once that beer is ready.

As it was running late, we never did make it to Bar Volo. That's a visit for another time. Thanks, Ken. It was a fabulous time!
