Hockley Dark

473 mL can
Price: $ 2.55
Beer, Ale, Craft Brewery
5.0% Alcohol/Vol.
Sugar Content : 3
Made in: Ontario, CanadaBy: Hockley Valley Brewing Co.

Tasting Note: Deep amber colour with a creamy head; toast, toffee, chocolate with hops notes on the nose; full, round flavours with a refreshingly bitter finish.

The tasting notes above are from the LCBO website. My palate is not so refined as to pick out toast and chocolate.

This dark "Traditional English Ale" from Hockley Valley Brewery is a very nicely flavored ale. I found it to be more along the lines of a stout, than an ale. It does have a milder taste than I expected and a slightly bitter finish.

I sure enjoyed sipping on it on a hot sunny afternoon. If you like dark ales and stouts then this one is definitely worth trying.

In an earlier post I said I would not score drinks but find I need to in order to keep better track of things. I give this one a 6.5/10. Please keep in mind that I am a hard marker.
