The Trinity Bellwoods Farmers Market
This afternoon I wandered over to the Trinity Bellwoods Farmers Market, which is held at the top north-west corner of Trinity Bellwoods Park at Dundas and Shaw. The market is open from 3pm-7pm every Tuesday until October 31.
There was a wide variety of farmers, wineries and fresh food to eat available. Here are a few.
Aldergrove Farm.
Matz Fruit Barn.
Sweet Gale Gardens.
Twin Creeks Organic Farm.
I bought some Mimolette, which is an aged Water Buffalo Cheese originally made from cow's milk in northern France, from Monforte Dairy. I've had their Mimolette before and it's fabulous!
I also came home with a small bag of fresh casarecce pasta from Alimentari Foods. Pesto pasta for supper tomorrow night!
Trinity Bellwoods is a nice farmers market with lots of variety and has the advantage of being set up in the shade. It's worth checking out.

Dufferin Grove Organic Farmers Market
Today I was at the Dufferin Mall and when I came out, I found that across the street was the Dufferin Grove Organic Farmers Market.
It runs from 3pm to 7pm every Thursday year round. I was hoping to find some excellent cheese but that seemed to be the one thing they did not have. Here are some shots of the produce available today.
Not only can you buy vegetables but there are a half dozen or more organic food vendors if you are hungry. If you're in the area, it's a market worth checking out.

Metro Hall "Indulge" Farmers' Market

There are stands selling produce, bread, cheese, honey, coffee beans, plus five or six local restaurants selling lunches and a stage for live performances. I look forward to this every year.
During my morning break, I pick up fresh bagels and usually fresh roasted soybeans(this week they were out) plus a fresh made coffee, and sometimes coffee beans. I am now on a new kick where I bring home a style of cheese which I have never had before. This week it is aged Gouda goat cheese. It is very good. Teena did not enjoy the smell. I do know the Gouda won't last long anyways.
Another reason to enjoy breaks and lunch on Thursdays!
Market day is busy.

Indulge Farmers Market
They also have a stage and seating for live music which plays from 12:30 to 1:30, sometimes longer. This week it was Jordan John (pictured), an R&B musician who was quite good.
There is also food tents which cook meals from scratch. By far the favorite is the back bacon
I always bring home six fresh bagels made with no preservatives and roasted soy nuts. This week, it was chili lime soy nuts. The salted, unsalted and BBQed are also delicious. For weeks I also came home with fresh picked corn for Thursday night and Friday night but Teena and I are now all corned-out.
The market closes in two weeks. Too bad as I always look forward to it. I love love living and working downtown.
Here are two different views of Metro Square Park. The first is this week's farmers market.
