The 2014 Toronto Wine and Spirit Festival

Today Teena and I were at the the Toronto Wine and Spirit Festival at Sugar Beach. We went last year and had a great time so we bought our tickets in advance. It was a great day for a festival like this.

Our first drink was a freshly made strawberry daiquiri by Brugal Rum. It was delicious!

One of my favorites of the day was the Sangria by Girls Night Out. We're getting some to sit out on our patio with!

There were not very many beer places here today but I had a delicious Boneshaker from Amsterdam Brewery, Millstreet Brewery and Tiger Beer.

There was entertainment and I loved how the backdrop was the harbour and islands.

For me, though, this was the entertainment. The unloading of pure cane sugar from a ship docked at Redpath Sugar, perhaps the last working pier in the harbour. This is a little geeky but I would like to do a tour of the Redpath Sugar Museum one day.

We had Chicken Samosas from Magic Oven. They were great!

We had a Mojito from Havana Club. We have had much better but the line was huge and it wasn't the best setting  to make them.

Around six, it started to become quite crowded.

Teena had a rose from here which she enjoyed. I had a Sauvignon blanc which was tart and enjoyable.

My favorite wine, and I do love Rieslings, was the Horse and Boat from Burning Kiln Winery

It was a great afternoon and I am looking forward to next year!
